Auditorium

The auditorium is located on the first floor, equipped with PA system and campus wide computer networks.  It can easily accommodate 220 people and suitable for activities like talks, workshops and seminars. Auditorium usage is permitted for any official university activities. Room reservation can be made online by logging in to http://intra.umt/libonline/tempahan.php.

24-Hours Room

Located on the ground floor which provides reading area for about 30 people. The room is only available after the library is closed for students to continue study but will be opened throughout during the examination period.

Carrel Rooms

The library provides 26 carrel rooms on the second floor mainly for academic staff, post graduate and final year undergraduate students as follows:

Only lost key will be fined RM10.00. Duplication of keys is strictly prohibited and customers should collect and leave the key at the circulation counter every time they want to use the rooms. Room reservation can be made online by logging in to http://intra.umt/libonline/tempahan.php.   

Discussion Rooms

There are 15 discussion rooms available in the Library.  Students and staff can use these rooms and reservation can be made online http://intra.umt/libonline/tempahan.php.

Viewing Rooms

There are three (2) viewing rooms provided in the Library.  Students and staff can use these rooms and reservation can be made online http://intra.umt/libonline/tempahan.php.

This room is equipped with 31 units of computers with internet connection and is located on the first floor. This room is meant for information skills class training for either library staff or library customers. Room reservation can be made online by logging in to http://intra.umt/libonline/tempahan.php.

Meeting Room

This room is only available for University staff. It is located on the second floor and can accommodate 40 members at one time. Reservation can be made online by logging in to http://intra.umt/libonline/tempahan.php.  

Leisure Rooms

The library provides two (2) leisure rooms; one for male and one for female on the ground floor. Customers can use these rooms any time they need for resting.

Prayer Rooms

There are two (2) prayer rooms (male and female) situated at the ground floor for library customers performing their prayers.  However,

• Sleeping is strictly prohibited in the prayer rooms.
• No eating, drinking, smoking.
• Making noise is strictly prohibited.
• Usage is for praying only.
• Prayer costumes and mattresses must be kept neatly in the places provided after usage.
• Lights and air conditioning must be switched off after use. 

Post Graduate Lounge

The fully beautifully furnished sea-view lounge is basically meant for post graduate students and academic staff to enjoy reading or having mild discussion.  Located on the 2nd floor, its ambiance offers customers to feel relax while studying.

Library Square (Dataran Perpustakaan)

The open space Library square can be used as an exhibition area, religious or co-curriculum activities etc. It is situated on the ground floor of the Library

• Requestors should be UMT’s staff and students. Application must be attached with a written supportive letter and endorsed by the Chief Librarian.
• Usage application is restricted to activities organized by UMT only.
• Usage is not permitted on Thursdays and Fridays unless prior permission by the Chief Librarian has been granted. 

Main Reading Area

Provided on both floors as below.  Customers may also seat at designated hot spot area.

Light Reading Area

Located on the 1st floor where customers can enjoy reading daily newspapers, magazines, bulletins while watching choices of television program channels.

Exhibition Areas & UMT Gallery

Situated on the 1st floor of the Library’s Main Entrance.

Self Check Machines

The Library provides two (3) Self Check Machines for borrowing library books. They are placed near the Circulation Counter. Steps for borrowing to be followed:

• Scan the metric card or staff card.
• Scan the book.
• Collect receipt for safe keeping and future reference. 

Lockers

Situated on the first floor of the Library with 98 lockers provided.

Wireless facility/Hot spot

Library customers especially students per se may enjoy the wireless (hot spot) facility once registration is made at the Centre of Information Technology Office.
